Everyone talks about the importance of fitness and exercise for kids – including us. Today lets discuss the benefits of sports for students. Playing a sport is a great way for children to take a break from academics and release the pent-up energy. It also helps them lead fuller and happier lives as regular sports and fitness activities have proven to provide not only physical benefits but also social and psychological benefits to children. sports develops a child’s self-confidence and self-esteem. A pat on the back, high-five from a teammate, or handshake after a match really boosts a child’s confidence. Words of praise and encouragement from the coach, parents and other players raise the self-esteem. An important thing to remember is that a child’s self-esteem should not be distinguished by victory or loss.

Volleyball

The activities required while playing volleyball are to strengthen the upper body, arms, shoulders, thighs, abdominals, and lower legs. In addition, volleyball improves hand- eye coordination, reflexes, and balance. Last but not least, We at Bal Bhavan let A student learn teamwork and communication through volleyball and is a great social activity.

FOOTBALL

Every time I step onto the pitch; all my troubles go away. The only thing that matters on the field is the beautiful game ! and no doubt football is that excellent form of exercise which requires conditioning and strength training that we provide to students at Bal Bhavan.

“So it's really a good sport overall which provide health benefit to student in any age group.” Playing football is also a great way to improve concentration.

We, at Bal Bhavan, want to help students’ play the beautiful game in the right spirit. We have an in-house football academy aided by a national level football field. This caters for all abilities, from beginners to more experienced players, and provides an opportunity for children to develop their technical, psychological, as well as physical skills. HORSE RIDING

In riding a horse we borrow freedom. Horse riding has emerged as a very necessary activity at school level. Horse riding fosters the feelings of self-balance and is helpful in making the students courageous and bold. There are no instant results in horse riding; it’s all about hard work and patience.

In our lives too, patience helps us to diligently work toward our goals and stay aligned with them. It helps us to have trust in ourselves and guides us along to the right people, places and opportunities, thereby, bringing us all of the happiness that we long for.

Perhaps this is the only sport which includes contact with an animal and naturally, a lot of people are wary of taking it up. It can also be a dangerous sport for those who are new to it. Horse riding is also known as equestrianism. There are different types of horse-riding competitions all over the world, such as thorough bred horse racing, steeple chasing, endurance riding, etc. As one of the top residential schools in Haryana, Bal Bhavan has begun offering horse riding lessons to its students at all levels. We offer riding lessons for beginners as well as the experienced. Our expert coaches also train the more experienced students in dressage, show jumping and eventing. Badminton

Badminton is a fantastic game for our students as it not only enables them to work hard to improve their racket skills but also requires a great deal of physical and mental application. All students at TIS have the opportunity to play badminton during the course of each school year. We also provide a coaching club for boys and girls who wish to refine their badminton skills. At Bal Bhavan, we believe it is our duty to provide students with world- class badminton infrastructure.

Basketball

We, at Bal Bhavan, provide a unique opportunity for the student-athlete to become part of an environment of elite athletic training. Our programs enable students to have a great school experience while they continue to train like a professional with world class infrastructure.

Table Tennis

Indoor games are not as popular with students as outdoor games. To develop students’ interest towards indoor games we offer a specific sports arena that houses an area dedicated to table tennis. The TT tables are procured from the best sports houses of India. The table tennis arena has special sports flooring approved by sports commission for better and save play. Being an indoor game, the sports arena has been arranged with ample amount of light, making it suitable for playing in the nights as well.

HANDBALL

Handball is a great sport for boosting fitness levels and agility. Handball is a fast-flowing game. The aim is to throw the ball into the opponent’s goal as many times as possible within two 30-minute periods of play. It requires quick thinking and lightning reflexes as players are only allowed three steps with the ball, with a three second time limit.

Lawn Tennis

Without realizing, student can burn calories, improve their heart health, and get aerobic exercise, which works multiple muscles in the body while playing. Tennis helps kids stay focused to maintain a high energy level throughout the game, which in the end, helps them get a good night's rest.

NET BALL

Netball requires players to run around the pitch, sprint, and change direction quickly. Therefore, it is a good cardiovascular workout, and will improve overall fitness of the child. Their flexibility and strength will increase as well.

Rope Skipping

Jump rope is one of the easiest ways to play alongside kids at recess or during break time. Grown-ups can introduce games that help kids develop basic jumping skills or use jump ropes in creative ways. Rope jumping or skipping is not only a playground activity and exercise, but also a competitive sport. Rope jumping usually involves a single person or more, jumping over a rope that is being swung. They make sure that they successfully let it pass under their feet and above their head while the rope is being swung.

Yoga

Yoga is not a work-out, it is a work- in. Yoga is a part of everyday sport. Yoga helps to refresh young minds and soul to achieve concentrating sessions and activity of the day. Yoga also helps students to develop concrete tools that empower them to take charge of their own health. This session is conducted early in the morning for about 30 minutes at around 6am (depending on weather) as a first activity in order to have positive and healthy beginning of the day.

Gym

Gym is another physically activity that become part of day to day life. Nowadays it is important for all the students spending approx. 7hour at school to engage themselves for Gym fitness session, it is important for their well-being who do not engage in physical activities outside of school. At BBIS children get gym class throughout the year wherein weather will not affect their fun and excitement towards gym classes. Indoor and Outdoor Gym areas are provided to have fitness session in every weather and in all atmosphere. Our aim of the sessions is to create a healthy relationship with exercise that can last for decades.

It givesan immense pleasure to do jogging in a lush green campus on jogger tracks that gives feel between the nature and heights of sky. Skating

It is important for today’s culture and routine life every child to be mentally and physically active. Skating gives a benefit for the mind as well as the body. Skating helps students in Fun exercise, Stress reduction, Endorphin release, Memory concentration, Self- esteem. This is a joyful activity enjoyed by kids, adult and students. Roller skating is one of the most efficient way of exercising which burns more calories as compared to walking. A child can easily learn other activities like ice skating and skiing once the basic skill of balancing on roller skates is achieved.

Kabaddi

Kabaddi is a popular contact sport in Southern Asia that first originated in Ancient India. Kabaddi is an India game requires both power and skills for its play. The player has to acquire power and learn both defensive and offensive skills to excel in the game. Kabaddi is a game where intelligence is also required good skills and technique.

Taekwondo

It is a sport that exemplifies self-defence, discipline, focus, good health and definitely holds a lot of benefits. The benefits of Taekwondo are quite numerous, each of which can go a long way in improving both your mental and physical heath. Taekwondo is not all about physical techniques as in case with most of martial arts. It also has a lot to do with the mental discipline as it incorporates goal setting and goal achieving techniques.
