The School follows a two-term semester assessment programme. A formal progress report is given after each term reflecting the regular evaluation of the child's all-round progress during the term. There is regular assessment of a child's performance in each subject and extensive evaluation is carried out by the teachers through monthly assignments and weekly observation in the form of follow-up tests.

At Bal Bhavan, we develop knowledge skills and learning attitude amongst our children by creating learning environment and opportunities for them in the school itself so they can explore, investigate, analyse, synthesis, evaluate and create.

  • It is mandatory to obtain 40% marks to qualify in the examination.
  • Student must obtain the minimum qualifying marks in all the subjects to get promoted to the next class.
  • In Annual Examination following syllabus will be covered from Term I:
    • Class III to V - 10%
    • Class VI to VIII - 20%
    • Class IX- 30%

  • All examinations will also be conducted for Additional Subjects.
  • Performance Enhancement Classes will be conducted for academically weak students as and when intimated by school.

Note:
  • It is compulsory for all the students to appear for all the exams conducted in School.
  • Maximum marks for different subjects will be as per the guidelines provided by CBSE in both theory and practical exams.
  • Practical & Theory exams will be conducted in Half Yearly and Final Exams while in Pre-Mid Term, Post-Mid term and Pre-Final Exams, only theory exam will be conducted.
  • The pass percentage in each subject in each exam is 40%.
  • Also, overall pass percentage is 40% which will be taken as cumulative of First Term and Annual Exam.
  • It is mandatory to pass in Practical and theory separately.
  • No retest shall be conducted in case student remains absent during Exams/ Practical’s.
  • School provide various options to select subject for Class XI & XII with the following condition:
  • Subject1, Subject2, Subject3 & Subject 4 are compulsory subject.
  • Student has to choose an one subject from the list of Subject 5.
  • Subject 6 will be Additional subject and it is compulsory to appear for this exam.

Note:
  • Each student studying in the school Class IX to XII has to compulsorily choose one activity in each from Strand – I, II, III respectively while for the contents of Strand IV the school will be organising Health Check-up of the students for which a separate consent form will be provided to the students.
  • We request the parent to guide children to select the activities in Strand I, II, III as per their choice / ability / strength.
  • In the implementation of the same the school expects the cooperation from the student and the parents as some of the activities might require after school involvement.
  • The school wishes that the HPE model as purposed by CBSE be taken up positively by each and every one irrespective of their limitation.

The teachers in the school nowhere intend to cause stress or incur extra burden to any student or their parent. Rather it is an attempt wherein we target to achieve the goals as laid down by CBSE in its HPE Manual.
